Wellington City Council (WCC) is the second local authority to raise funding utilising the Infrastrucrure Funding and Financing (IFF) Act. The transaction reached financial close in August 2023 with $400million of IFF funding being provided to Wellington City Council to support the construction of a new wastewater treatment facility for Wellington.

In March 2026, National Infrastructure Funding and Financing finalised a transaction with the developer of the Te Awa Lakes development in Horotiu, Hamilton to provide $50m of funding utilising the Infrastructure Funding and Financing (IFF) Act. The funding will facilitate the provision of transport and water infrastructure enabling 1,500 houses and commercial properties in the Te Awa Lakes development.

The thermal drying facility (tdf), located in new plymouth, serves to replace and upgrade the ageing thermal dryer facility at new plymouth district council’s (npdc) wastewater treatment plant, which was nearing the end of its operational life.
